Salvador Dalí’s The Twelve Tribes of Israel, a limited edition set of twelve oval medals, each measuring 75mm x 60mm, created to mark the 25th Anniversary of the State of Israel. Each medal reproduces one of Dalí’s distinctive biblical interpretations of the Twelve Tribes of Israel using a specialised colour production technique. The obverse of each medal features the tribe’s name in Hebrew and English, together with Dalí’s signature, while the reverse depicts Dalí’s celebrated Hora Around the Menorah from his Aliyah series.The medal edges bear the State of Israel emblem, inscriptions in Hebrew and English, and the individual serial number. This set is in the original plush velvet presentation case with gilt menorah decoration to the cover.
